KL Tower

  • Start your day with a visit to the KL Tower. Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the observation deck. You can also view the Merdaka tower from the observation deck.  Don’t forget to take pictures!
  • Tip: Tickets for the observatory tend to sell out quickly, so it’s recommended to book them well in advance—at least a week or more before your planned visit.

Hop On Hop Off Bus

  • Take the Hop On Hop Off Bus in the evening. This is a double decker AC bus with an open upper deck. This is a convenient way to explore the city at your own pace. Visit major attractions like Merdeka Square, the National Museum, the Petronas Twin Towers and more.

Night View of Petronas Towers

  • End your first day by heading back to the Petronas Towers for a nightlight and fountain show at night. The show is free and takes place at Lake Symphony in KLCC Park.

Day 2

Batu Caves

  • Begin your day with a trip to the Batu Caves. Explore the iconic limestone caves and admire the large golden statue of Lord Murugan. It’s a short train ride from the city center.
    • Head back to Kuala Lumpur for some relaxation. Consider visiting a nearby café or enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Jalan Alor Night Market

  • Experience Kuala Lumpur’s food scene at Jalan Alor. This vibrant street is lined with food stalls and offers a variety of local delicacies. Enjoy the bustling atmosphere and indulge in some great street food.

Day 3: City Highlights and Shopping

Petronas Towers Observation Deck

Start your day with a visit to the Petronas Towers’ Observation Deck. Get a ticket in advance to avoid long queues. Indulge in a sumptuous lunch at the food court in KLCC mall.

Merdeka Square

After lunch, head to Merdeka Square. Explore the historical significance of this area and take in the colonial architecture.

Central Market for Shopping

Visit Central Market for shopping. This cultural hub offers handicrafts, souvenirs, and local art. Perfect for picking up gifts!

Bukit Bintang

End your trip at Bukit Bintang, a popular shopping and entertainment district. Explore the malls, enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants, and soak in the lively atmosphere.

Accommodation

  • Stay: Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur – South. The stay was good, rooms were okay but the breakfast spread could have been better. The location was perfect with a metro station nearby. Lots of food options as well.

Transportation

  • Recommended Transport: Metro
    • The metro is the most efficient way to navigate the city. Cabs can sometimes get stuck in traffic for hours, making the metro a preferred option for quick travel.

I hope this itinerary makes planning your trip to Kuala Lumpur easier and helps you have a fantastic time there!
